Waterfront/Beach Cottage in the beautiful Maritimes
Our cottage, "hidden amongst huge cedar trees" and right on the Saint John River, is not only 10 minutes "up the river" from Saint John, it's only 10 minutes away from the Ocean and less than 1 hour from Calais, Maine & Fredericton, NB
Situated in a little community called "Martinon", we're just a few minutes walk to the CoOp grocery store and city bus stop.
We are only 4 minutes from more grocery stores in Grand Bay-Westfield, Scotia Bank, Guardian Pharmacy, a Tim Horton's coffee shop, Grand Bay Home Hardware, 3 gas stations, a post office, schools, churches, etc. - but, it's still very very secluded and private.
The Martinon Yacht Club (for sailboats) is literally "around the bend", and the full service Saint John Marina is only a couple of minutes away.
In the season, you can watch the sailboat races on Tuesday and Thursdays evenings. A bird habitat is just to the right of us, so there is lots of wildlife and we are in a great place to kayak.
In winter, it's great for ice fishing just off your own beach, or snow mobiling and snow shoeing. We are accessible all year round.
The cottage sits on a large double lot, (approx 11,560 sq ft) with plenty of beachfront, (60 ft) We do have neighbours 2 lots over to the right and left, and neighbours across the street. We are in an extremely safe area.
We are in a secluded "little bay"& we love to fish and swim here. The Bay is very shallow which makes it excellent for children to play in.
The inside measurements are approx: Livingroom 22 x 19, Kitchen 9 x 18,2 Small bedrooms, both approx 12 x 7.5, Front Bedroom 12 x 16, Bathroom 6.5 x 8. We can sleep at least 9 people comfortably.
There is a full bathroom with tub and shower, hot and cold water, a fully functional kitchen with lots of cupboard space, an electric range, microwave, fridge, etc. and we have our own well and septic too.
We're selling fully furnished and it's all ready to move in for the season.
The wood stove heats the whole house and there is electric baseboard heat as well. There is a large patio/sundeck with lots of room for entertaining and sun bathing; two large lawns in the front, plus a big back yard as well.
We also have plenty of parking for cars, or for a future garage. There is also secured storage space below the cottage.
At present, this is "just a cottage" - it's not a winterized home - but it can be made to live there all year round as our neighbours do.
Our stove heats the whole house, so you could literally stay from now till the end of Oct/Nov. The cottage is accessible all year round but you would have to winterize the "well pipes" when the frost comes.
